May 31, 1976POLICY INSTRUCTIONS NO. 16-76PAYMENT OF WAGES IN CALAMITY AREASPursuant to the Presidential Proclamation declaring a state of calamity in affected areas, the following guidelines are hereby issued governing the payment of compensation to employees and workers who were permitted or suffered to work in establishments located in such places where work was suspended for the period of May 20, 21, and 24, 1976:1) Daily paid workers — Daily paid workers who were permitted or suffered to work in establishments which remained open shall be paid their regular daily rate. Those who did not report for work shall be paid their wages chargeable against their accrued or future leave credits.2) Monthly paid employees —(a) Establishments which closed during the above period shall pay their employees their regular rate.(b) In establishments where some employees were required to report for work, for one reason or another, while others were not, those who were required to report for work shall be paid their regular rate plus 25 per cent premium pay, while those who were not allowed...
