March 16, 1998POEA MEMORANDUM ORDER NO. 004-98In connection with the issuance of the 1998 Uniform/Clothing Allowance and pursuant to the DOLE Administrative Order No. 23 and 23-A, s. 1998, the following guidelines shall apply:A. Uniform/Clothing Allowance1. The 1998 uniform/clothing allowance, as authorized under Section 37, general provisions of Republic Act 7845, the General Appropriations Act (GAA) of CY 1997, is P3,000.00 for each government official and employee.2. The purpose of the said allowance is to provide the employees with identical sets of uniforms that will give them a sense of identity and belonging to one organization.Considering that the present sets of POEA uniforms are still wearable and presentable, the 1998 uniform allowance of P3,000.00 per official and employee shall be given in cash.3. The wearing of the present sets of uniforms shall remain enforced until December 31, 1998.4. Those who were not issued the 1996 sets of uniforms and those who have to replenish work-out/lost/damaged uniforms shall procure their own materials.
