June 22, 1998ADVISORYTO:All Employers in the Private Sector   SUBJECT:Promulgation by the Employer or Head of Office of the Implementing Rules and Regulations of R.A. 7877 (An Act Declaring Sexual Harassment, and for other purposes) This is to advise all employers or head of offices in the private sector of the passage of Republic Act No. 7877 also known as the "Anti-Sexual Harassment Act of 1995" which took effect on March 5, 1995. cdaSection 4 of the Act states that "it shall be the duty of the employer or head of the work-related, educational or training environment or institution to prevent or deter the commission of acts of sexual harassment and to provide the procedures for the resolution, settlement or prosecution of acts of sexual harassment. Towards this end, the employer or head of office shall:a) Promulgate appropriate rules and regulations in consultation with and jointly approved by the employees or students or trainees, through their duly designated representatives, prescribing the procedures for the investigation of sexual harassment cases and the administrative sanctions therefor.b) Create a...
