November 9, 2016DOLE DEPARTMENT ORDER NO. 164-16RENAMING BACK OF LABOR COMMUNICATIONS OFFICE TO INFORMATION AND PUBLICATION SERVICEIn the interest of the service and pursuant to Executive Order No. 292 otherwise known as the Administrative Code of the Philippines, the nomenclature of the Labor Communications Office is hereby renamed back to Information and Publication Service (IPS). The IPS as mandated by law shall be responsible for rapport and understanding between the Department and the public through the development of public relations programs and dissemination of accurate and updated information on labor and employment, by means of publications and media coverages of special events and related matters on the Department's policies, plans, programs, and projects; likewise, it shall be responsible for providing answers to queries from the public regarding the Department's policies, rules, regulations, programs, activities and services.The IPS having two (2) divisions namely, Media and External Relations Division and Information and Publication Division shall perform functions as provided in the attached Annex A.
