June 26, 2018LABOR ADVISORY NO. 011-18TEMPORARY SUSPENSION ON THE ISSUANCE OF ALIEN EMPLOYMENT PERMITS TO FOREIGN NATIONALS IN THE ISLAND OF BORACAYIn the interest of service and in consonance with Proclamation No. 475 declaring a State of Calamity in the Barangays of Balabag, Manoc-manoc, and Yapak (Island of Boracay) in the Municipality of Malay, Aklan and the temporary closure of the island as a tourist destination, the temporary suspension on the issuance of Alien Employment Permit (AEP) to foreign nationals intending to be employed in the Island of Boracay is hereby enforced. Further, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) hereby promulgates the following guidelines in relation to the suspension of AEP issuance: SECTION 1. Coverage. — The following categories of foreign nationals are covered by the temporary suspension:A. Foreign nationals who intend to engage in gainful employment 1 in the Island of Boracay; andB. Foreign nationals with valid AEP who intend to renew their employment permits.SECTION 2.
