March 10, 2020POEA ADVISORY NO. 73-20TEMPORARY SUSPENSION ON UMRAH PILGRIMS AND VISIT VISAS TO THE KINGDOM OF SAUDI ARABIAAccording to the Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, based on information received from General Authority of Civil Aviation, issued Public Advisory PA EBB-19-2020 temporarily suspending the travel of the following visa holder categories to Saudi Arabia as a precautionary measure to prevent the spread of the COVID-19: a) Umrah visa holders; andb) Tourist visa holders from countries judged to pose a particularly high risk of spreading the virus.The Consulate further stated that visit visa holders or workers who possess a valid visa, whether entry or working/residence visa (iqama), and dependents are allowed to enter or return to Saudi Arabia.Filipino workers are advised to follow any precautionary measures issued by the Saudi government.For the information and guidance of all concerned. (SGD.)
