2009POEA MARKET UPDATE NO. 10-09U.S. MILITARY CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS FOR GUAM AWARDEDOpportunities to affiliate with major construction companies for Guam-based projects await interested and qualified recruitment agencies in the Philippines.The Philippine Consulate General in Agana, Guam recently reported that the following construction companies were awarded contracts for various U.S. Navy construction and renovation projects in Guam: 1. Hensei-Phelps Construction Company, a Colorado-based company, was awarded the largest contract for the design and construction of new bachelor enlisted quarters at Naval Base Guam. The project involves construction of a multi-story building which will have 140 two-person rooms to accommodate 280 personnel.2. Pacific Program-Design Management Services (PP-DMS), Pasadena, California-based company was awarded the second contract for the building of the U.S. Marine Camp bachelor enlisted quarter and the upgrading of the Apra Harbor facilities.3. Tumon Corporation, a Guam-based company, was awarded the third contract for the repair and modernization of a bachelor's quarters building at Camp Covington at the Naval Base in Guam.Philippine licensed agencies and contractors may wish to offer their services to these awarded contractors.
