November 11, 2019POEA MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 012-19TO : All POEA Licensed Manning Agencies, Shipowners, and Principal/Employers with Foreign Flag Ships   SUBJECT : Withdrawal of Designation 5 Strait of Hormuz as Temporary Extended Risk Zone POEA Governing Board Resolution (GBR) No. 10, Series of 2019 was adopted on 24 September 2019 pursuant to the agreement of the International Bargaining Forum (IBF) that introduced the Strait of Hormuz as an "IBF Temporary Extended Risk Zone," amending the list of Warlike and High Risk Designations with applicable benefits attached effective on 13 August 2019.Pursuant further to the same GBR, authority was granted to the POEA Administrator to issue guidelines adopting circular and advisories on high risk zones/areas that may be issued from time to time by competent and authorized bodies, to include payment of additional compensation and benefits.
