September 28, 2007POEA MARKET UPDATE NO. 22-07WORK INJURY BENEFITS UNDER ISRAEL'S NATIONAL INSURANCE PROGRAMThe Philippine Overseas Labor Office in Israel has reported that under Israel's National Insurance Program which covers foreign workers, work injury benefits are granted for work accidents or occupational diseases. For this insurance, employee contribution is not required but employer's contribution is at .61% for full rate and .45% for reduced rate. The insurance provides benefits for work and work disability and benefits to dependents of injured person. Work injury benefits cover medical care and injury allowance for a maximum period of thirteen (13) weeks. Work disability benefits cover work disability pension, work disability grant, special pension, special grant, grant following death not due to work injury and vocational rehabilitation. Dependents of injured persons dependents' pension, dependents' grant, marriage grant, vocational rehabilitation, maintenance allowance for orphans and grant following the death of the disabled person.
