• Any association, organization, political party, or group organized for the purpose of:
- Overthrowing the Government of the Republic of the Philippines, or (Section 2)
- Removing from allegiance to the government or its laws, the territory of the Philippines or any part thereof, (Section 2)
- With the open or covert assistance or support of a foreign power, or (Section 2)
- With the open or covert support from any foreign source, whether public or private, (Section 2)
- By force, violence, terrorism, arson, assassination, deceit or other illegal means, (Section 2)
shall be considered and declared a subversive organization. (Section 2)
• The law takes effect immediately. (Section 2)

PRESIDENTIAL DECREE No. 1736
AMENDING PRESIDENTIAL DECREE NUMBERED EIGHT HUNDRED EIGHTY-FIVE, OTHERWISE KNOWN AS THE REVISED ANTI-SUBVERSION LAW, AS AMENDED
WHEREAS, reports of law enforcement agencies reveal that the activities of the criminal elements in the country engaged in subversive acts, have been deriving and receiving support not necessarily from foreign governments, but from foreign private sources;
WHEREAS, it is imperative to redefine the scope of subversive associations in order to outlaw organizations which are supported by any foreign source, public or private;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS. President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers in me vested by the Constitution, do hereby order and decree the following:
Section 1. Section two of Presidential Decree numbered eight hundred eighty-five otherwise known as the Revised Anti-Subversive Law, is hereby amended to read as follows:
