Summary of Presidential Decree No. 1428Establishment of Don Vicente Orestes Romualdez Agricultural College
- An agro-industrial college shall be established in the municipality of Burauen, Province of Leyte, to be known as Don Vicente Orestes Romualdez Agricultural College. (Section 1)
- The site of the school shall be determined by the Secretary of Education and Culture, upon the recommendation of the Regional Director, Region VIII, DEC, Tacloban City. (Section 1)
Curriculum and Course Offerings
- In the first and second years, only a general education curriculum with practical arts shall be offered. (Section 1)
- In the third and fourth years, a voca-education curriculum with practical arts shall be offered. (Section 1)
- The school shall offer short vocational courses for training in vocations needed in the locality, which shall be open to elementary school graduates. (Section 1)
- The school shall be open as soon as feasible, two-year post-secondary technical courses. (Section 1)
Effectivity
- This Decree shall take effect immediately. (Section 2)

PRESIDENTIAL DECREE No. 1428
AMENDING REPUBLIC ACT NO. 6629 CHANGING THE NAME OF THE BURAUEN AGRO-INDUSTRIAL HIGH SCHOOL TO DON VICENTE ORESTES ROMUALDEZ AGRICULTURAL COLLEGE AND AUTHORIZING THE SECRETARY OF EDUCATION AND CULTURE TO DETERMINE THE SITE OF THE SCHOOL
WHEREAS, Republic Act No. 6629 has provided for the establishment of an agro-industrial high school in the municipality of Burauen, province of Leyte, known as Burauen Agro-Industrial High School;
WHEREAS, the School serves the student population of the municipality of Burauen and its neighboring towns;
WHEREAS, the late Don Vicente Orestes Romualdez, a native of Leyte, had not only selflessly dedicated himself to the upliftment of the masses but also sacrificed beyond personal endurance for the welfare of the youth in the province;
WHEREAS, the school authorities, employees and residents of the aforesaid municipality passed a resolution requesting the change of the name of the Burauen Agro-Industrial High School to Don Vicente Orestes Romualdez Agricultural College to perpetuate his memory; and
