- The Sangguniang Panlungsod is the legislative body of the City of Marikina.

- The city vice-mayor as the presiding officer.
- Eight (8) regular Sanggunian members from each district, elected in the district where they reside.
- The president of the city chapter of the Liga ng mga Barangay.
- The president of the Panlungsod na Pederasyon ng mga Sangguniang Kabataan.
- Sectoral representatives as members.
- Legislative Districts (Section 2, amending Section 53 of RA 8223):
- The City of Marikina, being highly urbanized, shall have two legislative districts.
- The two districts will commence at the next national elections after the effectivity of this Act.
- First District: Barangays Sto. Nino, Malanday, Sta. Elena, San Roque, Calumpang, Tañong, Barangka, Industrial Valley Complex, and Jesus de la Peña.
- Second District: Barangays Nangka, Parang, Concepcion Uno, Concepcion Dos, and Marikina Heights.
- Repealing Clause (Section 3):
- All laws, executive orders, rules, and regulations inconsistent with this Act are repealed, amended, or modified accordingly.
- Effectivity Clause (Section 4):
- This Act shall take effect fifteen (15) days after its publication in at least two newspapers of general circulation.

AN ACT AMENDING SECTIONS 10 AND 53 OF REPUBLIC ACT NO. 8223, OTHERWISE KNOWN AS THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF MARIKINA
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:
SECTION 1. Section 10 of Republic Act No. 8223, otherwise known as the Charter oithe City ofMarikina is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Sec. 10. The Sangguniang Panlungsod. - (a) The sangguniang panlungsod, the legislative body of the City, shall be composed of the city vice-mayor as presiding officer, the eight (8) regular sanggunian members in each district, who shall be elected in the district where they reside, the president of the city chapter of the liga ng mgs. barangay, the president of the panlungsod na pederasyon ng mga sangguniang kabataan, and the...
