Summary of Republic Act No. 9620

Conversion of Negros Occidental Science High School into a National Science High School
- The Negros Occidental Science High School in Victorias City, Negros Occidental is converted into a national science high school to be known as Negros Occidental National Science High School. (Section 1)

Transfer of Assets and Liabilities
- All personnel, assets, liabilities, and records of the Negros Occidental Science High School are transferred to and absorbed by the Negros Occidental National Science High School. (Section 2)

Appropriations
- The Secretary of Education shall immediately include the operationalization of the Negros Occidental National Science High School in the Department's program. (Section 3)
- The initial funding shall be charged against the current year's appropriations of the Negros Occidental Science High School. (Section 3)
- Thereafter, the amount necessary for the continued operation of the school shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act. (Section 3)

Implementation
- The Secretary of Education shall issue rules and regulations necessary to carry out the purpose of this Act. (Section 4)

Effectivity
- This Act shall take effect fifteen (15) days after its publication in the Official Gazette. (Section 5)
