AN ACT CREATING TWO (2) ADDITIONAL BRANCHES OF THE MUNICIPALITY TRIAL COURT IN CITIES (MTCC) FOR THE CITY OF BUTUAN, AMENDING FOR THE PURPOSE SECTION 29 OF BATAS PAMBANSA BLG. 129, OTHERWISE KNOWN AS THE JUCIARY REORGANIZATION ACT OF 1980, AND APPROPRIAING FUNDS THEREFOR

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

SECTION 1. Section 29 of Batas Pambansa Bilang 129 is hereby amended to read as follows:

"SEC. 29. Municipal Trial Court in Cities. – In every city which does not form part of a metropolitan area, there shall be a Municipal Trial Court with one branch, except as hereunder provided:

"Two branches for Laoag City;

"Four branches for Baguio City;

"Three branches for Dagupan City;

"Five branches for Olongapo City;

Three branches for Cabanatuan City;

Summary of Republic Act No. 9310

Amending the Judiciary Reorganization Act of 1980
- Section 1 amends Section 29 of Batas Pambansa Bilang 129 (Judiciary Reorganization Act of 1980) to specify the number of branches for Municipal Trial Courts in Cities (MTCC) in various cities across the Philippines.
    - It increases the number of MTCC branches in Butuan City to four branches. (Section 1)
- It mandates the operationalization and funding of the two additional MTCC branches in Butuan City through the annual General Appropriation Act. (Section 2)

Effectivity
