AN ACT ESTABLISHING ADDITIONAL BRANCHES OF THE MUNICIPAL TRIAL COURT IN THE CITY OF ILIGAN, PROVINCE OF LANAO DEL NORTE, AMENDING FOR THE PURPOSE SECTION 29 OF BATAS PAMBANSA BILANG ISANG DAAN AT DALAWAMPU’T SIYAM, OTHERWISE KNOWN AS THE JUDICIARY REORGANIZATION ACT OF 1980, AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:
Section 1. Section 14, paragraph (i) of Batas Pambansa Bldg. 129, as amended, otherwise known as the Judiciary Reorganization Act. of 1980, is hereby further amended to read as follows:
"(i) Forty-two Regional Trial Judges shall be commissioned for the Eight Judicial Region. There shall be:
"Six branches with seats thereat for the Province of Eastern Samar, with seats at Borongan, Guiuan; Dolores, Oras and Balangiga;
"Seventeen branches with seats thereat for the Province...

Establishment of Additional Branches of the Municipal Trial Court in Iligan City, Lanao del Norte
- Amends Section 29 of Batas Pambansa Bilang 129 (Judiciary Reorganization Act of 1980) to establish additional branches of the Municipal Trial Court in Iligan City, Lanao del Norte. (Section 1)
- Specifies the number of Regional Trial Court branches and their locations in the 8th Judicial Region, which includes:
- 6 branches in Eastern Samar (Borongan, Guiuan, Dolores, Oras, and Balangiga) (Section 1)
- 17 branches in Leyte, Biliran, and the cities of Ormoc and Tacloban (Section 1)
- 6 branches in Northern Samar (Catarman, Laoang, Allen, and Gamay) (Section 1)
- 4 branches in Southern Leyte (Maasin, San Juan, and Sogod) (Section 1)
- 9 branches in Samar and Calbayog City (Catbalogan, Basey, Calbayog City, Calbiga, Tarangnan, and Gandara) (Section 1)
Implementation and Funding
- The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, in coordination with the Secretary of the Department of Justice, shall immediately include the operationalization of the additional Regional Trial Court of Balangiga, Eastern Samar, in its program. (Section 2)
- The funding for the additional court shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act. (Section 2)
Effectivity
- This Act shall take effect upon its approval. (Section 3)
