AN ACT ESTABLISHING THE DAVAO DEL NORTE REGIONAL SPORTS ACADEMY TO BE LOCATED IN THE DAVAO DEL NORTE SPORTS AND TOURISM COMPLEX AND ALLOCATING FUNDS THEREFOR

Establishment of Davao del Norte Regional Sports Academy
- The Davao del Norte Regional Sports Academy shall be established in the Davao del Norte Sports and Tourism Complex in Tagum City, Province of Davao del Norte. (Section 1)
- It shall be the primary sports development and training center for the Davao Region. (Section 1)

Upgrading and Management of Facilities
- The Provincial Government of Davao del Norte, in coordination with the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), shall:
    - Upgrade, improve and modernize existing facilities, equipment and personnel. (Section 2)
    - Integrate them into the newly created sports academy and training center. (Section 2)
    - Create necessary training programs and competitions. (Section 2)
    - Establish a system for maintaining and managing the facilities. (Section 2)

Funding
- The construction, establishment and operation shall be funded by: (Section 3)
    - The Provincial Government of Davao del Norte.
    - Funds granted by the PSC and the Office of the President.
    - Grants and endowments from local or foreign sources intended for sports development.
- The Secretary of Education shall include the operation of the Academy in the Department's programs, and its funding shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act. (Section 4)

Implementation
- The PSC, in coordination with the Department of Education (DepED) and the Provincial Government of Davao del Norte, shall promulgate the necessary rules and regulations for implementation within ninety (90) days after the law's enactment. (Section 5)

Effectivity
- The Act shall take effect fifteen (15) days after its publication in the Official Gazette or in a newspaper of general circulation. (Section 6)
