Summary of Republic Act No. 9016Composition of the City Council of Muntinlupa
- Amends Section 11 of Republic Act No. 7926, the Charter of the City of Muntinlupa, regarding the composition of the Sangguniang Panlungsod (City Council). (Section 1)
- The Sangguniang Panlungsod shall be composed of:
- The city vice mayor as the presiding officer
- Eight (8) councilors per district who shall be regular Sanggunian members elected by popular vote (Section 1)
- The president of the city chapter of the Liga ng mga Barangay (League of Barangays) (Section 1)
- The president of the Panlungsod na Pederasyon ng mga Sangguniang Kabataan (City Federation of Youth Councils) (Section 1)
- Sectoral representatives as members (Section 1)
- In the local elections of May 2001, the qualified voters of the City of Muntinlupa shall vote for the eight (8) members per district of the Sangguniang Panlungsod. (Section 1)
Effectivity
- This Act shall take effect immediately after its publication in at least two (2) newspapers of general circulation. (Section 2)

AN ACT PROVIDING FOR THE COMPOSITION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF MUNTINLUPA, AMENDING FOR THIS PURPOSE SECTION 11 OF REPUBLIC ACT NO. 7926, OTHERWISE KNOWN AS THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF MUNTINLUPA
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:
Section 1. Section 11 of Republic Act No. 7926, otherwise known as the Charter of the City of Muntinlupa, is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Section 11. The Sangguniang Panlungsod. - The sangguniang panlungsod, the legislative body of the City, shall be composed of the city vice mayor who shall be the presiding officer, eight (8) councilors per district who shall compose the regular sanggunian members elected by popular vote, the president of the city chapter of the liga ng mga barangay, the president of the panlungsod na pederasyon ng mga...
