Summary of Republic Act No. 9891

Separation and Conversion of School
- The Maco National High School- New Leyte Annex in Barangay New Leyte, Municipality of Maco, Province of Compostella Valley is separated from the Main Maco National High School and converted into an independent national high school to be known as New Leyte National High School. (Section 1)

Transfer of Assets and Liabilities
- All personnel, assets, liabilities, and records of the Maco National High School- New Leyte Annex are transferred to and absorbed by the New Leyte National High School. (Section 2)

Appropriations
- The Secretary of Education shall immediately include the operationalization of the New Leyte National High School in the Department's program, with the initial funding charged against the current year's appropriations of the Maco National High School- New Leyte Annex. (Section 3)
- Thereafter, the amount necessary for the continued operation of the school shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act. (Section 3)

Implementation
- The Secretary of Education shall issue rules and regulations necessary to carry out the purpose of this Act. (Section 4)

Effectivity
- This Act shall take effect fifteen (15) days after its publication in the Official Gazette. (Section 5)
