- Upon death of an officer or enlisted man due to wounds, injuries, sickness or disease incurred in active service and line of duty, the surviving widow and/or unmarried children shall receive a gratuity of 6,000 pesos. (Section 3)
- Widow receives half, and the other half is divided equally among the children.
- If no widow or child, the gratuity is payable to the parents and divided equally between them.
Pension for Disability in Active Service
- For disability due to wounds, injuries, sickness or disease incurred in active service and line of duty, the officer or enlisted man shall receive a pension upon honorable separation based on the disability rating: (Section 5)
- 25% disability: 60 pesos monthly
- 50% disability: 100 pesos monthly
- 60% disability: 120 pesos monthly
- 70% disability: 140 pesos monthly
- 80% disability: 160 pesos monthly
- 90% disability: 180 pesos monthly
- Total disability: 200 pesos monthly
- Additional 60 pesos monthly for loss of one hand, one foot, or blindness in one eye.
- Additional 80 pesos monthly for loss of both hands, both feet, or one hand and one foot.
Appropriation and Effective Date
- Funds from the National Treasury shall be appropriated to cover the payment of gratuities and pensions under this Act. (Section 2)
- The Act took effect upon its approval on June 21, 1969. (Section 3)

AN ACT TO AMEND CERTAIN SECTIONS OF REPUBLIC ACT NUMBERED SIX HUNDRED TEN BY INCREASING THE AMOUNT OF GRATUITY AND PENSION PROVIDED HEREIN.
Section 1. Sections three and five Republic Act Numbered Six hundred ten are hereby amended to read as follows:
"Sec. 3. Hereinafter upon the death of any officer or enlisted man as the proximate result of wounds or injuries received or sickness or disease incurred in the active service and in line of duty, the surviving widow and/or children not emancipated shall receive a gratuity of six thousand pesos to be paid in lump sum. The widow shall receive one-half (1/2) of the amount and the other half shall be divided equally among the children entitled thereto. In the absence of a widow or child the gratuity herein provided shall be payable to the father and mother, the sum to be divided equally among the parents if both survive to the deceased."
