Summary of Republic Act No. 2073Amendments to Tariff and Customs Code of the Philippines
- Paragraph 73.11 of Chapter 73, Schedule XV, is amended as follows:
• Angles with maximum cross-sectional dimension not exceeding 88 millimeters and channels with maximum cross-section dimension not exceeding 75 millimeters are subject to 25% ad valorem duty. (Section 1A)
• Riveted, welded, punched, or drilled angles, shapes, sections, and sheet piling are subject to 80% ad valorem duty. (Section 1B)
• Other angles, shapes, sections, and sheet piling not covered in the above categories are subject to 15% ad valorem duty. (Section 1C)
- Paragraph 73.21 of Chapter 73, Schedule XV, is amended as follows:
• Assembled sheet piling of cast iron, iron or steel, girders, beams, joists, pillars made from assembled elements, and structures and finished parts for assembly into structures (e.g., bridge sections, roofing frameworks, shutters, pylons, balconies, balustrades, verandas, window and frames) of cast iron, iron or steel are subject to 80% ad valorem duty. (Section 2)
- The Act took effect upon its approval on June 13, 1958. (Section 3)

AN ACT TO AMEND PARAGRAPHS 73.11 AND 73.21 OF CHAPTER 73, SCHEDULE XV, OF REPUBLIC ACT NUMBERED NINETEEN HUNDRED THIRTY-SEVEN, OTHERWISE KNOWN AS TARIFF AND CUSTOMS CODE OF THE PHILIPPINES, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
Section 1. Paragraph 73.11 of Chapter 73, Schedule XV, of Republic Act Numbered Nineteen hundred thirty-seven is hereby amended to read as follows:
"73.11Angles, shapes, sections and sheet piling, of iron or steel, hot-rolled, forged or cold-finished, whether or not drilled or punched, but not assembled:
A.Angles of which the maximum cross-sectional dimension does not exceed eighty-eight millimeters and channels of which the maximum cross-section dimension does not exceed seventy-five millimetersad val. 25%
B.Riveted, welded, punched, or drilledad val. 80%
C.Otherad val. 15%."
