AN ACT TO FIX THE DATE OF THE REGULAR ELECTIONS FOR ELECTIVE PROVINCIAL, CITY AND MUNICIPAL OFFICES, AND OF THE ELECTION OF THE EIGHT SENATORS WHO WILL SUCCEED THOSE WHOSE TERM OF OFFICE WILL EXPIRE ON DECEMBER THIRTIETH, NINETEEN HUNDRED AND FORTY-SEVEN

Section 1. On the second Tuesday of November, nineteen hundred and forty-seven, and on the same day every four years thereafter, a regular election shall be held to elect the officials who will occupy all elective provincial, city or municipal offices throughout the Philippines. The officials elected shall assume office on the first day of January next following and shall hold such office for four years until their successors shall have been duly elected and qualified.

Section 2. The election of the eight Senators who will succeed those whose term of office will expire on the thirtieth of December, nineteen hundred and forty-seven, shall also be held on the second Tuesday of November, nineteen hundred and forty-seven.

Date of Regular Elections for Provincial, City, and Municipal Offices and Senators

- Regular elections for elective provincial, city, and municipal offices shall be held on the second Tuesday of November 1947 and every four years thereafter. (Section 1)
    - Elected officials shall assume office on January 1 following the election and hold office for four years.
- Election of eight Senators whose terms expire on December 30, 1947 shall also be held on the second Tuesday of November 1947. (Section 2)
- All inconsistent laws or parts thereof are repealed. (Section 3)
- The Act took effect upon approval on October 3, 1946. (Section 4)
