REPUBLIC ACT NO. 11787
AN ACT CONVERTING THE PINAMUNGAJAN EXTENSION CAMPUS OF THE CEBU TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY (CTU) IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF PINAMUNGAJAN, PROVINCE OF CEBU, INTO A REGULAR CAMPUS OF THE CTU, TO BE KNOWN AS THE CTU-PINAMUNGAJAN CAMPUS, AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR
SECTION 1.This Act shall be known as the "Cebu Technological University (CTU) Pinamungajan Campus Act." HTcADC
SECTION 2.The Pinamungajan Extension Campus of the CTU located in the Municipality of Pinamungajan, Province of Cebu, is hereby converted into a regular campus of the CTU, to be known as the CTU-Pinamungajan Campus.
SECTION 3.The CTU-Pinamungajan Campus shall primarily provide short-term technical-vocational, undergraduate, and graduate courses within its areas of competency and specialization, pursuant to the mandate of the CTU, and according to its capabilities as the Board of Regents, hereinafter referred to as the Board, may deem necessary to respond to the human resources development needs of the Province of Cebu and Region VII. This law converts the Pinamungajan Extension Campus of the Cebu Technological University (CTU) into a regular campus, to be known as the CTU-Pinamungajan Campus. The key provisions are:
- The CTU-Pinamungajan Campus shall primarily provide short-term technical-vocational, undergraduate, and graduate courses, as well as undertake research and extension services. (Section 3)
- It shall be headed by a Campus Administrator appointed by the CTU Board of Regents. (Section 4)
- The CTU shall ensure compliance with the minimum requirements of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) for the operation of the campus. (Section 5)
- All assets, personnel, records, liabilities, and obligations of the former extension campus shall be transferred to the CTU-Pinamungajan Campus. (Section 6)
- Government-owned land occupied by the former extension campus shall be transferred to the CTU, but will revert to the government if the campus ceases to exist or is no longer needed. (Section 6)
- The provisions of the Higher Education Modernization Act of 1997 (Republic Act No. 8292) shall form part of this Act. (Section 7)
- Funding for the implementation of this Act shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act (GAA). The Municipality of Pinamungajan shall provide assistance until the necessary funds are included in the GAA. (Section 8)
- The CTU Board, in consultation with CHED, shall determine the implementing rules and regulations within 60 days from the effectivity of this Act. (Section 9)
- If any part of this Act is declared invalid or unconstitutional, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect. (Section 10)
- All laws, presidential decrees, executive orders, rules, and regulations contrary to or inconsistent with this Act are repealed or modified accordingly. (Section 11)
- This Act shall take effect 15 days after its publication in the Official Gazette or a newspaper of general circulation. (Section 12)
