REPUBLIC ACT NO. 11722
AN ACT CONVERTING THE SULU SANITARIUM IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF JOLO, PROVINCE OF SULU, INTO A GENERAL HOSPITAL TO BE KNOWN AS THE SULU SANITARIUM AND GENERAL HOSPITAL, AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR
SECTION 1.The Sulu Sanitarium in the Municipality of Jolo, Province of Sulu is hereby converted into a general hospital to be known as the Sulu Sanitarium and General Hospital, under the direct supervision and control of the Department of Health (DOH).
SECTION 2.Any future increase in bed capacity shall be consistent with the hospital development plan that shall be prepared by the Chief of Hospital of the Sulu Sanitarium and General Hospital and submitted to the DOH.
SECTION 3.The existing professional health care services and facilities of the Sulu Sanitarium and General Hospital shall also be upgraded to conform with and be commensurate to the increase in bed capacity as provided for in Section 2 hereof.

• The Sulu Sanitarium in Jolo, Sulu is converted into a general hospital called the Sulu Sanitarium and General Hospital, under the supervision of the Department of Health (DOH). (Section 1)
• Any future increase in bed capacity must be consistent with the hospital development plan prepared by the Chief of Hospital and submitted to the DOH. (Section 2)
• The existing professional health care services and facilities shall be upgraded to match the increase in bed capacity. (Section 3)
• The existing workforce, including doctors, nurses, and support personnel, shall be increased correspondingly. (Section 4)
• The DOH Secretary, in consultation with the Chief of Hospital and coordination with the Department of Budget and Management and the Civil Service Commission, shall determine the additional new positions to be created and filled up. (Section 5)
• The DOH Secretary shall immediately include the implementation of this Act in the Department's program, and the funding shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act. (Section 6)
• If any part of this Act is held unconstitutional or invalid, the other provisions shall remain in full force and effect. (Section 7)
• All laws, decrees, orders, issuances, rules, and regulations inconsistent with this Act are hereby repealed, amended, or modified accordingly. (Section 8)
• This Act shall take effect fifteen (15) days after its publication in the Official Gazette or in a newspaper of general circulation. (Section 9)
