Summary of Presidential Decree No. 1338Creation of Barangay Talon Singko
- Section 1: The subdivisions Moonwalk, Agro Homes, Mikesell, St. Scholastica, and Delnor in Barangay Talon, Las Piñas, Metro Manila, are detached from Barangay Talon to form the new and independent Barangay Talon Singko.
- The legal existence of the mother barangay Talon is not affected.
Applicability of Laws
- Section 2: Except as provided in the decree, all laws applicable to regular barangays shall apply to Barangay Talon Singko.
Barangay Officials
- Section 3: The current elective barangay officials of Barangay Talon shall continue their duties in the newly created Barangay Talon Singko until new officials are appointed by the President.
- The appointed officials shall hold office until their successors are elected in the regular barangay elections following the issuance of the decree, unless removed earlier by the President.
- Necessary appointive officers and employees shall be appointed as provided by existing laws to organize or complete the government personnel of Barangay Talon Singko.
Transfer of Assets and Liabilities
- Section 4: Upon the decree's effectivity, the proportionate share of Barangay Talon Singko in the obligations, funds, assets, and other property of Barangay Talon shall be transferred by the President to the newly created barangay upon the recommendation of the Commission on Audit.
Repealing Clause
- Section 5: All laws, executive orders, or regulations inconsistent with the decree are repealed or modified accordingly.
Effectivity
- Section 6: The decree shall take effect immediately.

PRESIDENTIAL DECREE No. 1338
CREATING BARANGAY TALON SINGKO IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF LAS PIÑAS, METRO MANILA
WHEREAS, the basic objective of government is to accelerate the pace of socio-economic development throughout the country;
WHEREAS, the government has engaged in intensified development projects geared towards the upliftment of the socio-economic well-being of our people;
WHEREAS, in the execution of said governmental projects, close supervision by local officials is a necessity so as to at least approximate a certain degree of achievement which will contribute to a large extent towards the political, social and economic upliftment of the residents of the localities involved;
WHEREAS, it has been the steady desire of the inhabitants of the area affected to create the proposed barangay so as to effectively attain the goals of the New Society throughout the land;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers in me vested by the Constitution, do hereby order and decree, as part of the law of the land, the...
