- Barangays Pulong Sampaloc and Camachile from Angat, Bayabas and Kabayunan from Norzagaray, and Talbak, Camachin, and Kalawakan from San Miguel in Bulacan are separated to form the new municipality. (Section 1)
- The new municipality is bounded by specific coordinates and has an area of 93,297.9726 hectares and 9,726 square meters. (Section 1)
- The seat of government is in Barangay Pulong Sampaloc. (Section 1)
Applicability of Laws
- Except as provided, all laws applicable to regular municipalities shall apply to Doña Remedios Trinidad. (Section 2)
Transition of Officials and Properties
- Current provincial officials of Bulacan shall perform duties as ex-officio officials until new municipal officials are appointed. (Section 3)
- Barangay Captains of the 7 barangays shall be appointed as members of the Municipal Sangguniang Bayan, and remaining members shall be selected from private sectors. (Section 3)
- Appointed officials shall hold office until successors are elected in the next regular elections, unless removed by the President. (Section 3)
- Necessary appointive officers and employees shall be appointed as provided by existing laws. (Section 3)
- The proportionate share of obligations, funds, assets, and properties of the mother municipalities shall be transferred to the new municipality upon recommendation of the Commission on Audit. (Section 4)
Land Reservation and Administration
- The alienable and disposable area within the municipality is reserved for human settlement and agricultural development under the administration of the municipal chief executive, subject to private rights and future classification and survey. (Section 5)
- The Provincial Governor of Bulacan shall have full authority in the management and development of forest reserves covered by the decree. (Section 6)
Repealing Clause and Effectivity
- All laws, executive orders, or regulations inconsistent with this decree are repealed or modified accordingly. (Section 7)
- This decree shall take effect immediately. (Section 8)

PRESIDENTIAL DECREE No. 1196
CREATING THE MUNICIPALITY OF DOÑA REMEDIOS TRINIDAD IN THE PROVINCE OF BULACAN
WHEREAS, it has been the clamor of the residents of certain barangays in the municipalities of Angat, Norzagaray and San Miguel, Bulacan, with the conformity of prominent and ruling community leaders of the locality, as well as the local elective officials, to form their barangays into a new municipality, so as to accelerate the pace of development of the areas affected; and
WHEREAS, the creation of the new municipality augurs the execution of the ambitious objective to realize a proposed model municipality, a human settlement that will have self-sufficient ability and viable capability to administer its own local affairs and render adequate services to its residents through a systematic protection and tapping of its reserves and resources;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by the Constitution, do hereby order and decree, as part of the law of the land, the following:...
