EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 442 December 23, 1974
CREATING THE PRESIDENTIAL COMMISSION TO REVIEW THE CODE OF FILIPINO MUSLIM LAWS
WHEREAS, the codification of Philippine Muslim laws is one of the priority projects identified for the reconstruction and development of Mindanao and Sulu;
WHEREAS, the realization of the aspiration of the Filipino Muslims to have their system of laws enforced in their communities will reinforce the just struggle of the Filipino people to achieve national unity; and
WHEREAS, the Research Staff created under Memorandum Order No. 370 has already completed its assigned task towards the codification of Muslim laws.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by the Constitution, do hereby create a Presidential Commission to Review the Code of Filipino Muslim Laws to be composed of the following:
1. Dean, Institute of Islamic Studies, PCAS
Chairman
2. Representative, Supreme Court
Vice-Chairman
3. Representative, Department of Justice

Purpose: To create the Presidential Commission to Review the Code of Filipino Muslim Laws.
Provisions:
- Establishes the Presidential Commission to Review the Code of Filipino Muslim Laws, with the following composition:
• Chairman: Dean, Institute of Islamic Studies, PCAS
• Vice-Chairman: Representative, Supreme Court
• Members:
• Representative, Department of Justice
• Representative, Integrated Bar Association of the Philippines
• Representative, Law Center, University of the Philippines
• Representative, Catholic Hierarchy of the Philippines
• Two (2) reputable Muslim lawyers
• Two (2) learned of Ulama
• Project Officer, Research Staff for Codification of Filipino Muslim Law
- The Commission shall primarily consider the draft "Code on the Administration of Muslim Law of 1974" submitted by the Research Staff created under Memorandum Order No. 370.
- The Office of the Research Staff created under Memorandum Order No. 370 shall serve as the Secretariat of the Commission.
- The Commission is authorized to call upon any government department, bureau, office, agency, or government-owned and/or controlled corporations for assistance in accomplishing its task.
- An amount of TWENTY-TWO THOUSAND (P22,000.00) PESOS is authorized to be released for the use of the Presidential Commission, chargeable against funds appropriated for the implementation of Proclamation No. 1081 and related Orders, Decrees, and Instructions.AIC Grande Tower Garnet Road
