MALACAÑAN PALACEManila BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES Proclamation No. 251 DECLARING FEBRUARY 9, 1938, A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY In commemoration of the day (February ninth, eighteen hundred and thirty-seven) that saw the birth of Reverend Father Jose A. Burgos, one of our venerated martyrs, who had consecrated his life to the cause of our Fatherland, it is but fitting and proper that the centennial of the day of his birth be celebrated this year and that said day be declared a special public holiday so that the spirit of the occasion may be preserved in the memory of our people. Now, therefore, in pursuance of the provisions of section thirty of the Revised Administrative Code, I Manuel L. Quezon, President of the Philippines, do hereby proclaim February ninth, nineteen hundred and thirty-eight, a special public holiday.
