- This is to enable the people of General Santos City to celebrate the 77th Foundation Anniversary and the Kalilangan Festival of the city.
- The Sangguniang Panlungsod (City Council) requested that 26 February 2016 be declared as a special (non-working) day instead of 27 February 2016, which falls on a Saturday.
- It is fitting and proper that the people of General Santos City be given full opportunity to celebrate and participate in the occasion with appropriate ceremonies.

PROCLAMATION No. 1230
DECLARING FRIDAY, 26 FEBRUARY 2016, AS A SPECIAL (NON-WORKING) DAY IN THE CITY OF GENERAL SANTOS
WHEREAS, Saturday, 27 February 2016, marks the 77th Foundation Anniversary and the Kalilangan Festival of the City of General Santos;
WHEREAS, to enable the people of the City of General Santos to celebrate the occasion, the Sangguniang Panlungsod requested that Friday, 26 February 2016 be declared as a special (non-working) day instead of 27 February 2016, which falls on a Saturday;
WHEREAS, it is but fitting and proper that the people of the City of General Santos be given full opportunity to celebrate and participate in the occasion with appropriate ceremonies.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, PAQUITO N. OCHOA, JR., Executive Secretary, by authority of His Excellency, BENIGNO S. AQUINO III, do hereby declare Friday, 26 February 2016, as a special (non-working) day in the City of General Santos.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed....
