- The Philippines is being recognized as a potential tourist paradise, and two international travel conferences will be held in Manila:
• Asian and Far Eastern Travel Commission (AFETC) conference from January 25 to January 27, 1954.
• Pacific Area Travel Association (PATA) conference from January 27 to February 1, 1954.
- It is essential for the Filipino people to understand and appreciate that a prosperous travel industry can contribute to the expansion and strengthening of the national economy.
- The public is encouraged to cooperate with the government in actively developing the Philippine tourist industry, as envisioned in Republic Act No. 710, which grants a charter to the Philippine Tourist and Travel Association, Inc.
- The period from January 16 to February 15, 1954, is declared as Philippine Tourist Promotion Month.
- All government offices, private entities, and individuals are called upon to:
• Participate in the proper observance of the said period.
• Give full publicity to the tourist promotion activities organized in connection with it.
• Support the Philippine Tourist and Travel Association, Inc. in carrying out the government's program of developing Philippine tourism and travel.
- Schools, civic organizations, and service clubs are specifically called upon to devote one day during the said period to a program of education for promoting knowledge and love of the country, as a basis for encouraging greater travel and intercourse among Filipinos and people from other countries, thereby increasing tourism within the Philippines.
- The public is urged to assist in the development of tourist attractions and facilities, and to keep tourist spots beautiful, clean, and healthful for the common enjoyment of all.

DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM JANUARY 16 TO FEBRUARY 15, 1954, AS PHILIPPINE TOURIST MONTH
WHEREAS, the attention of the travel world is now being focused on the Philippines as a potential tourist paradise;
WHEREAS, there will be held in Manila two international travel conferences, that of the Asian and Far Eastern Travel Commission (AFETC) from January 25 to January 27, 1954, and that of the Pacific Area Travel Association (PATA) from January 27 to February 1, 1954, to study, discuss and devise measures affecting common problems in travel development and tourist promotion work in Asia and the Pacific area;
WHEREAS, it is essential that our people understand and fully appreciate the fact that a prosperous travel industry can be a vital factor in the expansion and strengthening of our national economy; and
