- Declares Thursday, 17 March 2016, as a special (non-working) day in the City of Davao. (Section 1)
- This is in accordance with Republic Act No. 7685, which declares March 16 of every year as a special non-working holiday in Davao City, known as Araw ng Dabaw. (Whereas Clause 1)
- The special non-working day on 17 March 2016 marks the celebration of Davao City's Araw ng Pasasalamat. (Whereas Clause 2)
- The people of Davao City are given the opportunity to celebrate and participate in the occasion with appropriate ceremonies. (Whereas Clause 3)

PROCLAMATION No. 1234
DECLARING THURSDAY, 17 MARCH 2016, AS A SPECIAL (NON-WORKING) DAY IN THE CITY OF DAVAO
WHEREAS, Republic Act No. 7685 declares March 16 of every year as a special non-working holiday in the City of Davao to be known as Araw ng Dabaw;
WHEREAS, on Thursday, 17 March 2016, the City of Davao marks the celebration of its Araw ng Pasasalamat;
WHEREAS, it is but fitting and proper that the people of the City of Davao be given full opportunity to celebrate and participate in the occasion with appropriate ceremonies.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, PAQUITO N. OCHOA, JR., Executive Secretary, by authority of His Excellency, BENIGNO S. AQUINO III, do hereby declare Thursday, 17 March 2016, as a special (non-working) day in the City of Davao.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have-hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
