Declaring Thursday, April 9, 1953 as a Special Public Holiday in Bataan Province- Pursuant to Proclamation No. 381 dated March 21, 1953, April 9, 1953 was declared as "Bataan Day" to commemorate the 11th anniversary of the Fall of Bataan. (Section 1)
- It is fitting and proper that the people of Bataan be given full opportunity to observe the day with fitting ceremonies. (Section 2)

Proclamation No. 384
DECLARING THURSDAY, APRIL NINTH, NINETEEN HUNDRED AND FIFTY-THREE, AS A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN THE PROVINCE OF BATAAN.
WHEREAS, under Proclamation No. 381, dated March 21, 1953, the ninth day of April, nineteen hundred and fifty-three, has been declared "Bataan Day" in commemoration of the eleventh anniversary of the Fall of Bataan;
WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the people of Bataan be given full opportunity to observe the day with fitting ceremonies;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Elpidio Quirino, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the authority vested hurtle by section 30 of the Revised Administrative Code, do hereby proclaim Thursday, April ninth, nineteen hundred and fifty-three, as a special public holiday in the Province of Bataan.
In witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
