DESIGNATING THE PERIOD FROM AUGUST 19 TO SEPTEMBER 19, 1949 AS "ANTI-TUBERCULOSIS MONTH" AND AUTHORIZING THE PHILIPPINE TUBERCULOSIS SOCIETY TO CONDUCT A NATIONAL FUND AND EDUCATIONAL DRIVE DURING THE SAID PERIOD.
WHEREAS, the campaign against tuberculosis in the Philippines must be carried on year after year through the concerted efforts of all the people in order to advance further the progress so far achieved in the prevention and control of this dreadful disease;
WHEREAS, to enable the Philippine Tuberculosis Society to prosecute more vigorously and extensively the all-important task of combating this constant threat to the health, economic security and general welfare of the people, said Society should be provided with the needed funds and other forms of assistance from the public; and
WHEREAS, education of the masses is one of the most effective means of controlling the ravages of tuberculosis;
