Proclamation No. 262
DESIGNATING THE PERIOD FROM AUGUST 19 TO SEPTEMBER 19, 1951, AS "ANTI-TUBERCULOSIS MONTH" AND AUTHORIZING THE PHILIPPINE TUBERCULOSIS SOCIETY TO CONDUCT A NATIONAL FUND AND EDUCATIONAL DRIVE DURING THE SAID PERIOD.
WHEREAS, although considerable progress has been achieved in containing the ravages of tuberculosis in the Philippines through the unrelenting efforts and activities of the Philippine Tuberculosis Society in cooperation with the Government, this disease continues to be a great menace to the health of the nation;
WHEREAS, the prevention and control of this scourge must necessarily, be a gradual process from year to year, for which reason it is imperative that facilities be made available not only to maintain the commendable work already accomplished but also to make possible the progressive diminution of the mortality and incidence from tuberulosis with the end in view of ultimately stamping out this malady; and
WHEREAS, for the attainment of these objectives, which are aimed to promote the health and welfare of the people, the Philippine Tuberculosis Society...
