Summary of Executive Order No. 327

Extension of the Central Visayas Water and Sanitation Project - Project Management Unit (CVWSP-PMU)

- Background:
• Executive Order No. 108 created the CVWSP-PMU as the coordinating arm of the Central Visayas Regional Development Council for implementing the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID)-assisted Central Visayas Water and Sanitation Project. (Section 1)
• The CVWSP-PMU was originally set to operate from July 12, 1993 to April 30, 1996, as per the Memorandum of Understanding between the Philippines and Australia. (Section 1)

- Extension of Term:
• The term of the CVWSP-PMU is extended to December 31, 1997, to allow the completion of projects under CVWSP. (Section 1)
• A one-year extension is required to complete all projects under the CVWSP. (Section 1)
• The Government of Australia has agreed to extend its funding support to CVWSP until April 30, 1997. (Section 1)
• The Central Visayas Regional Development Council has approved the proposal to extend the CVWSP-PMU for one year, including a six-month winding-up period, until the completion of ongoing projects. (Section 1)

- Operational Guidelines:
• The CVWSP-PMU and its Project Governing Committee shall continue to operate and perform its mandated tasks, functions, and responsibilities in accordance with applicable provisions of Executive Order No. 108. (Section 2)
• The CVWSP-PMU and its Project Governing Committee shall be subject to such coordinative, directorial, management, and budgetary guidelines/issuances as may be promulgated by the Central Visayas Regional Development Council. (Section 2)

- Effectivity:
• This Executive Order shall take effect immediately. (Section 3)
