Enforcement and Technical Staff (Sections 6 and 7):
- The Fire Service under the Integrated National Police is responsible for enforcing the Fire Code. (6)

Inspections, Safety Measures, and Fire Safety Requirements (Section 8):

- Safety measures for hazardous operations like welding, industrial baking, and waste disposal. (8c)

Prohibited Acts (Section 9):
- Lists prohibited acts like obstructing exits, fire lanes, or fire service operations, overcrowding public assembly buildings, locking fire exits, smoking in prohibited areas, and tampering with fire safety equipment. (9)
Abatement of Fire Hazards (Sections 10 and 11):
- Fire hazards must be abated immediately upon order from the Director General. (10)
- Buildings declared as firetraps or public nuisances must be abated within 30-60 days, or the government can conduct summary abatement and recover expenses through a lien on the property. (10, 11)
Penalties (Section 12):
- Administrative fines up to ₱12,000 or stoppage of operations/closure for violations. (12a)
- Imprisonment of 6 months to 6 years, or a fine up to ₱20,000, or both for willful failure to correct deficiencies or abate hazards. (12b)
Appropriation and Sources of Income (Sections 13 and 14):
- ₱100 million appropriated for the Fire Service, with additional annual appropriations for 10 years. (13a)
- Taxes and fees imposed, including:
- Fees for certificates, permits, and licenses. (13b1)
- 0.1% of building value, up to ₱50,000, for new constructions. (13b2)

FIRE CODE OF THE PHILIPPINES
WHEREAS, death and injury to persons and loss and damage to property by fire have reached alarming proportion that the economic and social gains of the society are being continually undermined;
WHEREAS, in order to effect a meaningful reduction of the alarming fire losses, there is a need to develop national consciousness and involvement of all persons in the prevention and suppression of fires;
WHEREAS, fire prevention and suppression require the adoption of uniform fire safety standards, the incorporation of fire safety construction and provision of protective and safety devices in buildings and structures;
WHEREAS, there is an urgent need for an agency primarily responsible for the implementation and coordination of the activities of all sectors of society on fire safety, prevention and suppression;
