Proclamation No. 266
FIXING MONDAY, OCTOBER 3, 1938, AS CENSUS DAY
Whereas Proclamation Numbered Two hundred sixteen, series of nineteen hundred and thirty-seven fixed Saturday, April Sixtenth, nineteen hundred and thirty-eight, as Census Day, and authorized the designation of teachers of the Bureau of Education to undertake the enumeration work;
Whereas in order to relieve unemployment in the provinces, it has been deemed necessary to discontinue the former plan of employing school teachers as enumerators; and
Whereas very little time now remains before April sixteenth, nineteen hundred and thirty-eight, in which to take the steps preparatory to the organization of the necessary field force for census work;
Now, therefore, I, Manuel L. Quezon, President of the Philippines, pursuant to the provivsions of Commonwealth Act Numebred One hundred seventy, do hereby amend Proclamation Numbered Two hundred sixteen series of nineteen hundred and thirty-seven, and fix Monday, October third, nineteen hundred and thirty-eight, instead of April sixteenth, nineteen hundred and thirty-eight, as Census Day.
