CHANGING THE "REPUBLIC MEMORIAL CEMETERY" AT FORT WM MCKINLEY, RIZAL PROVINCE, TO "LIBINGAN NG MGA BAYANI"

WHEREAS, the name "Republic Memorial Cemetery" at Fort Wm McKinley, Rizal province, is not symbolic of the cause for which our soldiers have died, and does not truly express the nations esteem and reverence for her war dead;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Ramon Magsaysay, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare that the "Republic Memorial Cemetery" shall henceforth be called "LIBINGAN NG MGA BAYANI".

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.

Done in the City of Manila, this 27th day of October, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and fifty-four, and the Independence of the Philippines, the ninth.

- The name "Republic Memorial Cemetery" at Fort Wm McKinley, Rizal Province, is not symbolic of the cause for which the soldiers have died and does not truly express the nation's esteem and reverence for her war dead.
- The President of the Philippines, Ramon Magsaysay, by virtue of the powers vested in him by law, declares that the "Republic Memorial Cemetery" shall henceforth be called "Libingan ng mga Bayani" (Cemetery of Heroes).
