Hanging the "Republic Memorial Cemetery" at Fort WM McKinley, Rizal Province, to "Libingan Ng Mga Bayani"

MALACAÑANGRESIDENCE OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINESManila BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES Proclamation No. 86 CHANGING THE "REPUBLIC MEMORIAL CEMETERY" AT FORT WM MCKINLEY, RIZAL PROVINCE, TO "LIBINGAN NG MGA BAYANI" WHEREAS, the name "Republic Memorial Cemetery" at Fort Wm McKinley, Rizal province, is not symbolic of the cause for which our soldiers have died, and does not truly express the nation’s esteem and reverence for her war dead; NOW, THEREFORE, I, Ramon Magsaysay, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare that the "Republic Memorial Cemetery" shall henceforth be called "LIBINGAN NG MGA BAYANI". IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
