Summary of Executive Order No. 885Tariff Preferences for ASEAN Countries
- Certain imported articles listed in Annex "A" shall be accorded the margins of tariff preferences specified in column 6 of Annex "A". (Section 1)
- These articles shall be subject to the Preferential Tariff for ASEAN countries according to the schedule in columns 7-9 of Annex "A". (Section 1)
Automatic Adjustment of Preferences
- If the basic Philippine rate of duty on any of the listed articles changes, the articles shall automatically be accorded the corresponding margins of preference indicated in column 6 of Annex "A". (Section 2)
Rules of Origin
- After the effective date, the listed articles entering or withdrawn from warehouses in the Philippines for consumption shall be subject to qualification under the Rules of Origin prescribed in the Agreement on ASEAN Preferential Trading Arrangements ratified on August 1, 1977. (Section 3)
Effective Date
- This Order shall take effect on February 11, 1983. (Section 4)

MODIFYING THE RATES OF IMPORT DUTY ON CERTAIN IMPORTED ARTICLES AS PROVIDED UNDER PRESIDENTIAL DECREE NO. 1464, AS AMENDED, OTHERWISE KNOWN AS THE TARIFF AND CUSTOMS CODE OF 1982, IN ORDER TO IMPLEMENT THE MARGINS OF THE PREFERENCE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE ASEAN AGREEMENT ON PREFERENTIAL TRADING ARRANGEMENTS WITH RESPECT TO CERTAIN ARTICLES NEGOTIATED DURING THE FOURTEENTH MEETING OF THE ASEAN COMMITTEE ON TRADE AND TOURISM
Pursuant to the powers vested in me by Section 402 of Presidential Decree No. 1464, as amended, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby direct and order that:
Sec. 1. The articles specifically listed in Annex "A", hereof as classified under Section 104 of Presidential Decree No. 1464, as amended, shall be accorded the margins of tariff preferences as specified in column 6 of said Annex "A". In effect, such articles shall be subject to the Preferential Tariff for ASEAN in accordance with the schedule indicated opposite each article as specified in columns 7-9 of said Annex "A".
