- Executive Order No. 123 dated January 30, 1987, previously attached the Commission on Population to the Department of Social Welfare and Development. (Whereas clause)
- To facilitate coordination of policies and programs relative to population, it is deemed necessary to place the Commission on Population under the control and supervision of the Office of the President. (Whereas clause)

EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 408 June 18, 1990 PLACING THE COMMISSION OF POPULATION UNDER THE CONTROL AND SUPERVISION OF THE OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT WHEREAS, under Executive Order No. 123 dated 30 January 1987, the Commission on Population was attached to the Department of Social Welfare and Development; WHEREAS, in order to facilitate coordination of policies and programs relative to population, it is deemed necessary to place the Commission on Population under the control and supervision of the Office of the President; WHEREAS, Book III, Title III, Chapter 10, Section 31(3) of the Administrative Code of 1987, authorizes the President to "... transfer agencies to the Office of the President from other departments or agencies." NOW, THEREFORE, I, CORAZON C. AQUINO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby order: Sec. 1. The Commission on Population is hereby placed under the control and supervision of the Office of the President. Sec. 2. This Executive Order shall take effect immediately.
