PLACING THE NATIONAL PROGRAM FOR UNIFICATION AND DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL UNDER THE OFFICE OF THE EXECUTIVE SECRETARY AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
WHEREAS, a comprehensive peace process was launched by the government for the attainment of a just, comprehensive and lasting peace in the country,
WHEREAS, there is a need for the Presidency to provide active leadership in the pursuit of the comprehensive peace process.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby order
Sec. 1. The National Program for Unification and Development Council established under Executive Order No. 152 dated January 21, 1994 is hereby placed directly under the Office of the Executive Secretary.
Sec. 2. The National Program for Unification and Development Council established for the purpose shall now be composed of the following:
a. The Executive Secretary — Chairman
b. The Secretary of the Interior and Local Government — Member
c. The Secretary of National Defense — Member

Placing the National Program for Unification and Development Council Under the Office of the Executive Secretary
- The National Program for Unification and Development Council, established under Executive Order No. 152, is placed directly under the Office of the Executive Secretary. (Sec. 1)
- The Council is composed of the following members:
• The Executive Secretary - Chairman (Sec. 2a)
• The Secretary of the Interior and Local Government - Member (Sec. 2b)
• The Secretary of National Defense - Member (Sec. 2c)
• The Secretary of Social Welfare and Development - Member (Sec. 2d)
• The Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process - Member (Sec. 2e)
- In case of incapacity, illness or other justifiable reasons, a Secretary may be represented in the Council by his/her senior undersecretary. (Sec. 2)
- Executive Order No. 152, dated January 21, 1994, as amended, is hereby amended accordingly. (Sec. 3)
- The Executive Order takes effect immediately. (Sec. 4)
