Executive Order No. 343

EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 343 December 19, 1988

RECONSTITUTING THE COMMISSION ON EXPORT PROCEDURES

WHEREAS, a competitive export industry requires the acceleration of agricultural development, a sound and efficient fiscal/tax policies, and an efficient/viable/ dependable transportation and communications network;

WHEREAS, the direct participation of the Department of Agriculture (DA), Department of Finance (DOF), and Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) in the development and growth of the country's export trade industry are vital; and

WHEREAS, the inclusion of the DA, DOF, and DOTC in the composition of the Commission on Export Procedures created under Executive Order No. 843, series of 1982, to study, review, revise, amend, introduce innovations, simplify, and consolidate rules and regulations to expedite the exportation of products will facilitate the carrying out of the Commission's mandate.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, CORAZON C. AQUINO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby order:

Reconstituting the Commission on Export Procedures

- The Secretaries of Agriculture, Finance, and Transportation and Communications are included in the membership of the Commission on Export Procedures. (Section 1)
- The Secretary of Trade and Industry remains as the Chairman of the Commission. (Section 2)
- All rules, regulations, and issuances contrary to or inconsistent with this Executive Order are repealed or modified accordingly. (Section 3)
- This Executive Order takes effect immediately. (Section 4)

The Commission on Export Procedures is tasked with studying, reviewing, revising, amending, introducing innovations, simplifying, and consolidating rules and regulations to expedite the exportation of products. The direct participation of the Departments of Agriculture, Finance, and Transportation and Communications in the development and growth of the country's export trade industry is considered vital. A competitive export industry requires the acceleration of agricultural development, sound and efficient fiscal/tax policies, and an efficient, viable, and dependable transportation and communications network.
