This refers to your letters dated April 14, 2008 and September 19, 2008, received by this Office on February 5, 2009 via 1st Indorsement dated January 5, 2009 from Revenue District Office No. 05, Alaminos City, Pangasinan, requesting tax exemption of Bureau of Fisheries & Aquatic Resources Multi-Purpose Cooperative (BFAR-MPC) under the provisions of R.A. No. 6938, otherwise known as the "Cooperative Code of the Philippines".
Documents submitted disclose that BFAR-MPC with Taxpayer Identification No. 005-573-872-000, is a multi-purpose cooperative with registered address at Lucap, Alaminos City, Pangasinan; that it is registered with the Cooperative Development Authority with CDA Registration No. DAG-4090 on June 28, 1999; that the objectives of the cooperative are as follows:
