This refers to your letter dated April 10, 2008 requesting a confirmatory ruling on the exemption enjoyed by cooperatives under the provision of R.A. No. 6938, otherwise known as the Cooperative Code of the Philippines. DcSEHT
Documents submitted disclosed that Samahang Pagkakaisa ng Laiya Aplaya Multi-Purpose Cooperative is a multi-purpose cooperative with principal office address at Laiya Aplaya, San Juan, Batangas; that it is registered with the Cooperative Development Authority with CDA Registration No. LGA-7153 on February 13, 2008; that the objectives and purposes for which it was formed among others, are as follows:
1. Upang pasiglahin ang pagpapakilos sa pagtitipid at pag-iimpok ng mga kasapi para sa pormasyon ng puhunan;
2. Lumikom ng puhunan at magpahiram/magpautang sa mga kasapi para sa pagpapaunlad ng kabuhayan at iba pang pansariling pangangailangan;
3. Makapagbigay/matulungan ng hanap-buhay ang mga kasapi sa pamamagitan ng proyektong serbisyong pantao "manpower services" tulad ng gawain sa mga beach resort at iba...
