SierraPresidentGentlemen :This refers to your letter dated January 30, 2009, wherein you requested for a ruling exempting Remnant International School-Caba, Inc. from payment of income tax and other internal revenue taxes. It is represented that Remnant International School-Caba, Inc. is a non-stock, non-profit educational institution duly organized under the laws of the Philippines; that it is registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission under SEC Registration No. B200100776 dated July 28, 2006; that it is recognized by the government and permitted by the Department of Education to operate the Basic Education Curriculum (1st year to 4th Year) per Government Permit (R-1) No. SE-073, S. 2008.In reply, please be informed that paragraph 3, Section 4, Article XIV of the 1987 Constitution provides, viz.:"All revenues and assets of non-stock, non-profit educational institutions used actually, directly and exclusively for educational purposes shall be exempt from taxes and duties."A non-stock, non-profit educational...
