This refers to your letter dated March 10, 2009 which was received by this Office by way of 1st Indorsement dated April 29, 2009 by Revenue Region No. 11, Iloilo City requesting for exemption from the payment of project-related taxes particularly the value-added tax pursuant to Republic Act (R.A.) No. 7279, otherwise known as the "Urban Development and Housing Act of 1992".
It is represented that F. Gurrea Construction, Inc. is the contractor of a socialized housing project of the National Housing Authority known as the Pan-Ay Resettlement Housing Project located at Brgy. Bonga, Pan-ay, Capiz.
In reply, please be informed that Section 19, Article V of RA 7279, which amends the Charter of NHA, reads as follows:
